Archive One Discovery Manager provides a full solution for message search and discovery enabling administrators to uncover important information from Exchange servers.

How does the Discovery Manager work?

Discovery Manager interrogates the contents of the live email stores, searches amongst Deleted Items, supports delegated supervisor searches and helps to meet the latest e-disclosure legislation and associate legislative rules.

Search within live Exchange stores

Discovery Manager accesses information on an Exchange system while it is live ensuring all current information is searched. 

Discover all content in Exchange

Discovery Manager looks into folders, mailboxes and subfolders of mailboxes to ensure all relevant information is discovered. 

Search for deleted items

Rapidly retrieve items from dumpsters which users may have deleted inadvertently. 

Find & search local and central PST files

Discovery Manager carries out full searches within PST files with total accuracy.

Search by any combination of over 70 criteria, including search by:

• Date – to focus on particular timeframe
• Subjects of message and/or attachment – to look into headline issues
• Contents of message and/or attachments – to find matching words and phrases
• Recipient – to exactly check display name, primary email address as well as email addresses from other mail systems
• Attachments of a particular file type – to just look for the required application data
• Properties of items - e.g. to report on read message or important meetings

Search multiple servers and multiple information stores

Discovery Manager can operate across large email systems with multiple interconnected servers.

Copy, Move, Delete or Report on results of the search

Discovery Manager provides the ability to choose what to do next with discovered items.

Copy or move found messages into a mailbox

Discovery Manager can compact PST files after processing to reclaim disk space.

Security for limiting administrative roles

Discovery Manager enables supervisors to have access to their own departments and differentiates between administrators who can create new searches and lesser operators with limited control. 

MMC interface

Discovery Manager is driven via a Microsoft MMC interface so that administrators, who are familiar with the Microsoft approach, can start immediately. 

Advanced use for integrators and specialization

Administrators working with 3rd party Exchange applications, or examining non-standard email characteristics, can search on custom mail header properties.
