Lotus Sametime Buddy Lists are typically created by users as an easy means of building team contacts. However, Buddy Lists do not reflect any subsequent changes made to the original user directory-entry after the Buddy List is created. A Buddy’s name may change, a user may leave, a directory OU may be redefined – none of these will be updated in the user’s Buddy List so an increasing number of users in the Buddy List are seen as unavailable when their information changes.
