Taking advantages of CertifiedMail’s .NET Platform, the CertifiedMail
Server now supports secure file transfers of file size up to 2GB. This
capability is particularly useful in handling X-ray images, CAT-scan
reports and other large medical images and analyses for diagnostic or
treatment purposes.
This functionality is available through an optional CertifiedMail Secure Large File Transfer (LFT) client. The LFT client is available as a Windows desktop application, and is also provided as a background service. The desktop client allows the user to configure its settings and perform drag and drop large file transfers. Automated background transfers are provided by the LFT service, which is ideal for bringing large file transfer services to your network. The LFT client allows you to associate one or more recipients to a directory, and define an unlimited number of directories. When files are placed into a configured directory, they will be automatically sent over a secure SSL link to the CertifiedMail Server and made available from the respective recipient’s secure web Inboxes. Message templates can be merged with the transfer to provide the recipient with additional information. Efficient DesignTo conserve system resources, only one instance of a transferred file is stored on the CertifiedMail Server, even if multiple recipients are specified. Additionally, large files are handled by the server in segments, allowing the system to efficiently handle very large files, even those bigger than available memory. Both the upload and download are can be resumed if interrupted, allowing file transfers to pickup where they left off. This saves time and bandwidth when working with very large files. Automated TransfersThe LFT client automatically polls for files to send, securely uploads them to a CertifiedMail Server, and tracks their delivery. The recipient runs the same desktop client, and configures it to periodically poll their CertifiedMail account. Downloaded files are placed into a directory they specify, allowing automated applications to begin processing the files when they arrive. Recipients can also download files manually from their secure CertifiedMail web Inbox. TrackingIn addition to the sending and receiving of large files, CertifiedMail also provides tracking of the file upload and download, including the time and IP address that the file was downloaded by the recipient. As a .NET application, the CertifiedMail Large File Handling utility can be used to send any type of file including data, EDI and binary files. Web Browser ClientSecurely receive files from the CertifiedMail Server up to 2GBs in size, per transfer, with detailed tracking. No software or plug-in needed to be installed. The CertifiedMail Web Client utilizes SSL for the delivery of files from the CertifiedMail Server. Windows ClientProvides automated, unattended delivery and receiving of large files using SSL with detailed tracking. Policies can be created to automatically deliver files to different business partners based upon different delivery paths.
The CertifiedMail Large File Handling Windows Client can be run as a background service on a server to create a Large File Transfer Application Server. The Windows Client can run on a PC running Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 2003. Auto-RestartIn case a file transfer is disrupted before completion, the Large File Handling client can auto-restart the transfer and resume from the last successful block of data delivered. Data Integrity VerificationAll data transferred is checked for integrity to ensure that the files sent are the files delivered. Detailed TrackingAll file transfers are tracked and include the checksum to verify transfer integrity, and date and IP address of the receiving device. CertifiedMail Developer’s Tool KitCertifiedMail offers a powerful API Developers Tool Kit to utilize the CertifiedMail Platform in your data center.
