MAXCOMPRESSION GATEWAY - OPTIMIZE INBOUND AND OUTBOUND SMTP EMAIL

An increasing amount of e-mail now passes through an organization’s SMTP Gateway. For optimum system usage, all e-mail attachments should be compressed as appropriate.

Compression of inbound and outbound e-mail at the SMTP Gateway is provided by MaX Compression Gateway

MaX Compression Gateway

Using standard ZIP compression, MaX Compression Gateway automatically zips/unzips file attachments passing to or from the Internet via the SMTP Gateway.

MaX Compression Gateway benefits :

  • Size of SMTP traffic is reduced.

  • Internal LAN and WAN traffic between Exchange sites reduces.

  • Information Store size is minimized.

For users that do not have MaX Compression Client installed (Outlook or OWA), a Reader is provided. This integrates seamlessly into a user’s mail client so that the user is unaware of the unzipping process.

Administrator benefits:

  • System-wide rules are set and include:

  • Multi-layered smart rules and central configuration.

  • World-wide Outlook support.

  • Default attachment zip type.

  • Minimum and maximum file sizes before compressing.

  • Addressing rules for recipients, locations, channel-type eg to a fax server (who should receive ZIP, EXE, not-to-zip).

  • File extensions not to zip (e.g. jpg, zip).

  • Maximum size uncompressed and/or compressed.

  • Works in conjunction with encryption solutions, virus scanners, content scanners and fax gateways.
