Why do I need PowerTools
PowerTools are primarily designed for power users and MAILsweeper for SMTP and WEBsweeper administrators who may:

• Be operating multiple gateways
• Have complex network routing topologies
• Require integration with legacy systems
• Have diverse security requirements.

PowerTools 1.0
The first release of PowerTools will contain eight utilities.

• WEB Based Monitoring (NEW) - Enables remote monitoring and basic administrative functions of MAILsweeper for SMTP to be done via a web browser
• FileSync (NEW) - Enables easy replication of MAILsweeper for SMTP policies across multiple hosts ·
• LinkChk (NEW) - Enables monitoring of service and connection failures for internet mail
• Addrlist (NEW) - Enables dynamic updates to address lists for customers that do not have LDAP
• Aliaslist (NEW) - Enables dynamic updates to alias address lists
• PLUG (NEW) - Enables the quick creation of URL blacklists for use with WEBsweeper. This utility works by automatically “harvesting” links from porn sites
• MACROstripper (Updated) - Enables Macros to be removed automatically from MS Word and Excel documents whilst still delivering the e-mail and attachments
• ScriptTool (Updated) - Enables the detection of potentially malicious scripts and unknown (new) viruses

How much does PowerTools cost?
PowerTools is provided free of charge to new and existing MAILsweeper or WEBsweeper customers. No additional Licence is required.

Are PowerTools fully supported?
Yes, they are supported via the normal support channels.

Will these tools be included in future products?
We expect that some of these tools will have high usage and others will not. We may transfer some of this functionality into the core MIMEsweeper products in a future release. It is our intention that these tools will evolve to meet additional customer requirements and extend our products functionality.

What versions of MAILsweeper/WEBsweeper are supported?
MAILsweeper 4.2.6 and WEBsweeper 4.1.1 (and above)

What operating systems are supported?
Windows 2000 SP2, International English versions (Professional and Server)

Do I need an additional host to run these tools?
Some of these tools will require an additional host. This will vary, so consult the individual tool documentation.
