Now you can
scan through all mail
A special scanning service is a part of the OmniAnalyser™
functionality. This allows you to can scan through all the company’s
messaging traffic data for specific messages or attachments, thus
identifying messages or attachments which may carry a virus or bulky
multimedia data as well as violate the company’s security policies.
Principles
of Scan Agent functionality
The
OmniAnalyser Scan Agent is a separate Service Agent, which is installed together
with each OmniAnalyser™ Agent on the same server and provides
you with more detailed information on the mail items passing through this server. Overnight
the Scan Agent scans through all mailboxes on its server for the
message subjects, contents and the titles of their attachments. As a
result, it produces log files and sends them to the main application of
OmniAnalyser™. This data is stored in two OmniAnalyser™ tables, for
messages and attachments respectively. Once the information is retrieved,
the user is able to search through it for any specific messages or
attachments.
Mailbox
Content Report
The
search results are presented to the user in another OmniAnalyser™
report, which can be viewed, similarly to all other reports, in Internet
browser. In the welcome page of the Mailbox Contents Report you may type
in the keyword or a part of message or attachment title, specify the
period of time during which the mail was sent and the mail size and click
‘Find.’ The resulting table will include the following columns:

- message title, in which the key word was found

- attachment name

Found
In - full directory name of the mailbox where the mail was found

On
Server - name of the mailbox home server

Originator
- originator’s address
-
Size
- size of the message
The
Scan Agent is installed in the same way as all other Exchange Agents.
