Problem:
- Attachments are downloaded through OWA and left on unsecured computers, creating a security risk
- Productivity is reduced because OWA attachments cannot be viewed
Solution: AttachView for Outlook Web Access
Result: allows users to view attachments in OWA without the security risk of
downloading and leaving attachments behind for unauthorized users to access.
Studies suggest that over 31% of emails include attachments. In most
cases, the information needed by the user is held in the attachment and not in the text of the
email. OWA users are often unable to read the vital information contained in attachments —and
even if they can open an attachment, a security risk of unauthorized access is created.
When OWA users need to view or print file attachments, the applications used to create the attachments must be installed and running on the local
machines; otherwise, users are unable to open attachments and their ability to conduct business is negatively
impacted. And if the required applications are available, then organizations run the risk that the attachments (which are “downloaded ” to the local machine and stored in the browser ’s easily-accessible file
cache) will be accessed by unauthorized users.

“AttachView for Outlook Web Access ”is a server- based OWA attachment viewing and document security solution that converts email attachments
into non-cached HTML files:
- quickly and easily view and print over 200 file formats (including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat PDF)from
within OWA —without the actual application being available
- ensure that no documents are left on an unsecured machine for others to view
- easily navigate long documents with a hyperlinked “Table of Contents ”
- save time by quickly viewing attachments without waiting for the application to load Secure and Quickly View Attachments in OWA
