Zero-hour capabilities protect an organization from viruses,
worms and Trojan horses before anti-virus vendors have had an opportunity to create a signature to defeat the new threat and
provide it to their customers.
Osterman Research reports this is an increasingly important capability given the ability for these threats to propagate very
quickly and given that it can take five hours (sometimes much longer) for organizations to have new signatures in place to
defend against them. In their study, 47% of respondents indicated that this capability was "important, while another 30% indicated
that it was "extremely important."
Working at the SMTP perimeter, Avinti iSolation Server intercepts e-mail at the network edge, executes and monitors the e-mail
behavior in a secure, virtual environment and then quarantines any e-mail exhibiting malicious behavior before delivery to the target user.

Banks and broker-dealers are obliged to retain email and
instant messaging documents for three years under US Securities and Exchange Commission rules. But similar requirements will
apply to all public companies from July 2006 under the Sarbanes-Oxley corporate reform measures.
But selecting an archiving system becomes problematic because there are
so many potential choices. To help. Gartner Group has included Archive One within the market
leaders for e-mail active-archiving, according to its new report, "Acquisitions Drive Expansion of E-Mail Active-Archiving Market.”
According to Gartner, e-mail active-archiving products, such as Archive
One need to:
- Capture and archive all e-mail messages entering and leaving the company plus messages between users on an e-mail server as unique, indexed records
- Provide access to the archive via a Web client and through the e-mail client.
- Include auditing to track access to archived records
- Support the secure storage of increasingly large archives offering multiple storage options for the archive, including disk, optical, tape, write once, ready many (WORM) tape and emerging devices, especially those targeted at content storage
- Exploit hierarchical storage management (HSM) technology to automatically prune the active e-mail data store for more-efficient operation
- Offer personal data store migration tools and temporary offline local store options to eliminate the storage of e-mail messages outside the control of the archive system
- Package tools for sampling and management of the compliance process
- Package or integrate with tools to manage the discovery process, narrowing the search and managing the steps needed to deliver records
- Integrate a robust records management solution to manage the life cycle of the records to ensure proper retention and deletion

Clearview Federal Credit Union has deployed the GlobalCerts
SecureMail Gateway(tm) to provide seamless email encryption services to its members and employees. During its 51 years
of operation, Clearview Federal Credit Union has grown from a small financial institution to Southwestern Pennsylvania’s
largest credit union. Clearview serves approximately 76,000 members, with reported assets valued at $580 million for the
2004 fiscal year. Clearview is headquartered near Pittsburgh, in Moon Township, Pennsylvania.
Clearview identified an immediate requirement to protect email messages containing Non-public Personal Information (NPI). To
protect its members' privacy and to comply with GLBA regulations, Clearview began looking for a secure messaging solution. "We looked
