New Mailbox Management/Email Archiving Best Practices for Lotus Notes & Microsoft Exchange

Castcadia adds ListServ capability to Lotus Notes via its Subscription Manager module
Castcadia provides the ability to capture Lotus Notes broadcast requests, Review, Approve and Schedule the broadcast and then move it into a traffic stream separate from other e-mail. The Broadcast Manager controls:

• Mail Group Abuse preventing the unauthorized use of group lists.
• Inappropriate subject matter - prevents distribution of broadcast material without review.
• Mail document size – Allows limits to be defined on the size of broadcast documents.
• Reply-to-all ‘floods’ – Broadcasts are sent to users individually addressed.
• Improper scheduling – Castcadia allows broadcasts to be scheduled for delivery at times appropriate for the content

The new Subscription Manager module allows you to set up user-initiated opt-in/opt-out lists of both internal and external users that can be added as another address source for Castcadia. Great for using Lotus Notes as the management tool for marketing or opt-in customer/employee communication lists.

Archive Attender V2.1 improves management of Archive Stores and user retrieval
Archive Attender reduces storage space on your mail servers and secures corporate information to comply with corporate, legal and regulatory requirements. It is an automated email archiving tool that moves essential data out of the email and into a secure, external storage device. Messages and attachments can be archived based on age, location and size. Management is executed through a remote web interface that can be used to setup the archiving schedule, search the indexed archives and view reports. New V2.1 adds:

• enforceable retention policies on all archived data. Based on criteria, content can either be moved to a different store location or deleted from the archives
• option to restore a message from the archive into the mailbox folder from where it was originally archived.
• search expanded to include searching on attachment name/type, archived date
• Archive Statistics view that displays the number and size of messages archived out of each user's mailbox

OWA AttachView improves attachment lockdown for traveling OWA users
AttachView is a server- based OWA attachment viewing and document security solution that converts email attachments into non-cached HTML files providing secure web access to attachments and eliminating the need for local versions of the attachment application. New V7 adds:

• RSA Secured certification SecurID provides two-factor user authentication, requiring users to identify themselves twice (with a password and a key fob token) before gaining access.
• Corporate device recognition to lockdown access to OWA to only known devices such as a company-owned notebook computer. 
• Read-only lockdown capability for attachments allowing organizations to restrict users from adding new attachments. Users can view and forward existing attachments only, providing additional security from non-secure computers.
• Restricted right-click menu access, disabling Save, Send-To and Print functionality
