New Ferris Research Report on Techniques for Zero Day Anti-Virus discusses deployment of Avinti iSolation server as an integral component
ReSoft has made available on its website a free Ferris Research report.

Ferris Research quotes: "In the interval between the initial  release of a new virus—the “zero hour”—and the deployment  of a corresponding anti-virus (AV) signature, an organization 
that employs only signature-based AV defenses is at risk  of infection. This risk is especially high today, since  modern, explosively propagating viruses can copy themselves  millions of times before a corresponding AV signature becomes  available. Unfortunately, the process of developing, releasing  and deploying an AV signature often takes several hours or longer.

Of the Avinti Solution, Ferris Research says "Because attachments are  executed in a live environment, virtual machine technology can  identify unknown viruses that other approaches may miss".

Akonix L7 adds Remote/Traveling User Support to its IM Archiving & Management capabilities
Currently, remote workers using public IM who are not connected to the corporate network are exposed and at risk of IM-borne virus or malware attacks. In addition, their IM conversations are not logged or archived to comply with corporate and regulatory requirements. With Akonix L7 Remote User Agent, organizations are ensured that any employee working remotely will receive the same IM security and compliance protection as users connected to the corporate network. 

In a July 2005 survey conducted by Quality Resource Associates, 89% of IT desktop managers felt that remote and mobile endpoints make it harder to remain compliant with IT, financial, regulatory or security policies. In addition, 50% of respondents stated that remote and mobile end-users actually ignore IT policies and regulatory compliance requests. Adding to these problems, laptop computer sales continue to rapidly grow. For example, Dell stated its laptop sales are growing at 30% a year.

The Akonix L7 Remote User Agent is the first product to address these increased security risks for remote users not connected to the corporate system, and consequently not protected by an enterprise network IM security product, such as L7 Enterprise. Discovery Attender V6.1B available for Lotus Notes 
Discovery Attender for Notes is an electronic discovery suite specifically designed to perform dynamic keyword searches of any Lotus Notes database. Discovery Attender can execute powerful scans of message subject, body and attachments through highly customizable search criteria. New to 6.1B:

  • Additional fields captured in results document. The SendTo,CopyTo, 
    BlindCopyTo, From and 'send' date fields are included.
  • Select 'Mail' or Application' for the databases to be searched. 
    If 'Mail' is selected, Users, Groups and OU structures can be specified. 
  • Audit trail of documents deleted from the results database. 
  • Option to not single instance duplicate emails. 
  • Option to copy or render documents to the results database. 
  • Provide the default mail template forms within the results database,
    so that email documents can be opened directly within the results
    database.
